In short
What does Gardenscape mean by garden walls?
Boundary and feature garden walls, built and faced to last and to match the property.
Garden and boundary walls, built to last
A garden wall marks a boundary, shelters a space or frames a feature, and a good one is built to outlast fencing and to suit the property. We build boundary and feature walls in stone and brick, faced and finished to match the house and the setting.
Footings, facing and coping
A wall is only as sound as its footings. We dig and pour foundations sized for the wall, build in the right materials, and finish with a coping that throws water clear and protects the top. The facing, matched local stone, brick or render, is chosen to sit with the property, so the wall looks like part of the house rather than an addition.
Height and planning
There are rules worth knowing. You can usually build a garden wall up to two metres without planning permission, but only one metre where it runs alongside a road used by vehicles or the footpath beside it. We confirm the position for your boundary before we start, and tell you if a taller wall needs an application.
In keeping with the property
Whether it is a Cotswold stone boundary, a brick garden wall or a rendered feature, we build it to suit the property and to last. Arrange a consultation and we will look at your boundary.

Common questions
Up to two metres in most places, but only one metre where it is next to a road used by vehicles or the footpath beside it. Above that you need a householder application. We confirm the position for your boundary first.
Because a wall is only as sound as its foundations. Footings sized for the wall stop it settling, cracking or leaning, and a good coping on top throws water clear and protects it. They are what make a wall last.
Yes. We face walls in matched local stone, brick or render to suit the property, so the wall reads as part of the house and the setting rather than an addition.
For longevity and character, often yes, especially in a stone setting. A wall costs more up front but lasts far longer and suits a period or stone property in a way fencing cannot.
