Answer

How do I stop decking being slippery?

Non-slip composite or grooved boards, good drainage and cleaning; algae is the usual cause.

In short

Slippery decking is usually algae on damp, shaded timber. Non-slip composite boards, grooved profiles or anti-slip inserts, good drainage and keeping it clean all help. Near water or in shade we specify a non-slip board from the start rather than fixing it afterwards.
