Answer
Can I sleep in a garden room?
Not under permitted development. Sleeping accommodation needs planning permission and building regs.
In short
Not under permitted development. A garden room used as self-contained or sleeping accommodation falls outside permitted development and needs both planning permission and building regulations approval whatever its size. Used as an office, studio or gym it is fine. If you want somewhere to stay, that is a different, more involved project, and we will tell you what it needs.
